350 Mass is an initiative connecting and organizing a strong grassroots coalition to address climate change and build a better future beyond fossil fuels. The “350” in their name comes from 350 parts per million, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere considered safe for our planet and climate by Dr. James Hansen, formerly of NASA, and other climate scientists. Organizers meet in “Nodes,” and the Franklin area has an active node which meets on the first and third Thursday of each month.
